Paint Strength+

Add color and Ionyx coating properties in one step. Ionyx Paint Strength + greatly amplifies the performance and endurance of solvent based and acrylic paints. Optimum Adhesion - Adhesion Promoter

No more sanding between coats. Ionyx Optimum Adhesion is proven in rigorous laboratory testing to manifest strong chemical bonding to HDPE, HDPP, EDPM rubber, and other very low surface energy surfaces. Optimum Adhesion allows high surface tension coatings, ex. polyureas, to firmly and successfully bond to low surface energy substrates, ex. HDPE, with increased bondability and bond strength consistently measured at more than 3 times that of applying top coat alone. 

Optimum Adhesion's ability to create strong bonds to inorganic and organic structures extends areas for protective coating application to previously difficult or unsuitable substrates. Optimum Adhesion virtually eliminates surface prep in most cases, including surface grinding and heating. (Conventional primers and coatings require a great deal of difficult surface prep to increase substrate surface energy to a stage that will permit adequate wetting with top coats.)

Customer success stories make us happy. Consider the story of one customer, who has been using this coating as an adhesion promoter for several years. Their old process required surface grinding glass for 8 hours a day in order to get the surface ready for a coating. Implementing Optimum Adhesion reduced surface prep from 8 hours a day to 15 minutes a day. Rule #1: Never Sacrifice Coating Durability
 “Sacrificial lubrication” euphemistically describes what happens as resin-based coatings flake off surfaces they are meant to protect.  The majority of friction-reducing coatings on the market simply add friction reducing ingredients into an organic resin base subject to natural wear limitations of resin. The plastic (carbon based) structure of organic resins is highly susceptible to UV damage and oxidation. Though some lubricious properties may remain in the detritus, the substrate metal is inevitably left exposed in the coating breakdown process. With the protective film destroyed, corrosion rapidly attacks metal. Eventually, the quantity of lubricious detritus subsides, allowing damage from unmitigated friction. In high-stakes industrial environments, implementing durable protection is essential to long term performance and asset preservation. The economic and maintenance advantages of replacing costly ”sacrificial” lubrication” with better performing, permanent protective lubricious coatings are obvious.
